Your camera will automatically recognise the scanner code and automatically prompt you to click on a link “mgl.lo” shown at the top of the screen. You click on that link and answer a few short questions.
The sheet offers you to open your web browser and go to a website link Follow the instructions on the instruction sheet
If you do not have a smart phone you can TEXT INSTEAD. Follow the instructions on the instruction sheet. This is the better option if your phone is not a smartphone.
This is NOT a one off exercise, you will need to do this every time you attend the club as the Covid 19 Rules state we must be able to provide a DAILY list of attendees.

President Rob Russell opened the meeting and thanked everyone for attending.
Before the meeting formally started Rob Russell asked everyone to stand and reflect for a few moments on those members who passed away since the last AGM.
Rob Russell explained to all attendees why the meeting had been delayed from last April so whilst we had posted all the usual reports on the website in April, we were unable, due to Covid 19 restrictions, to hold the meeting at the club in the usual way.
All attendees had been provided with a hard copy of the presentation notes. Rob Russell presented his report per his hard copy notes summarising short/long term Club objectives over many aspects of the Club. He also covered the noteworthy projects undertaken and noteworthy aspects in the 2019 period. He then ran through a few changes in sponsors in 2019 together with a big thank you to the volunteer base of the Club. There were special thanks to various individuals within the Club for their hard work.
Marilyn Schott our Treasurer then took to the floor and ran through her report on 2019 as well as pointing out a few matters related to 2020 which in 2019 would not have been anticipated. Marilyn Schott spoke about the financial result of 2019 which she felt were reasonable and had improved the cash holdings of the Club. She then explained where cash had been used throughout the year on the course and in the Clubhouse. Marilyn then thanked a number of people who had helped with their efforts throughout 2019 and pointed out we were now just short of a 1 million dollar turnover; which is quite a growth and makes the Club a serious size business. Marilyn ran through what we have budgeted for in 2020 and also how the recent Covid 19 pandemic issues had affected the club and how Government assistance had helped with Jobkeeper and PAYG rebates.
Our Treasurer then asked the floor for the Financial Accounts for 2019 to be accepted and David Cawthorn moved acceptance and John Crawley seconded.
Rob Russell returned to the floor and explained the changes to Directors and why there was no need for voting.
Geoff Collins (Club Captain) & Lee Maddinson had both resigned and due to the fact Marilyn Schott was only able to serve one year due to the Triennial Rule there were 3 vacancies which were advertised.
The Honorary Secretary had only received 3 nominees as follows:-
Phillip Behan had applied for the Captain/Director’s role John Crawley had applied for the Director role. Marilyn Schott had applied for the Treasurer role.
Given there were only the 3 applicants the Board decided to accept the applications and the above joined the Board, and there was no reason to vote with only one applicant per position. Each of the individuals stood up so everyone who attended knew who they were. John Clawley said he looked forwarded to serving the club and Phillip Behan thanked Geoff Collins for all his hard work within his Captain’s period and that he hoped he would do as well as Geoff Collins had done before him.
Any questions was put the floor regarding 2019 and 2020 up the current day.
Greg Collins advised everyone that on average 125 players took to the course each day was which was excellent and a big improvement on previous years. He also advised that green fees were currently up 38% on last year. Given the current circumstances that was good news to all in the room.
Kevin Huckel queried why lady golf membership numbers were dropping and wondered if there was any particular reason. Rob Russell advised that the Board were aware of the statistic and would be working with the ladies’ committee to try and improve those figures.
Rob Russell said that the Club’s priority was golf and the Board hoped that when we were confident we could work safely within Covid-19 Government guidelines we would open the bar/clubhouse as soon as we were able.
Kevin Huckel gave thanks to the Board for their excellent work in keeping the club going, keeping the members as safe as they were able to and also ensuring the finances were managed well.
Rob Russell thanked everyone again for attending and closed the meeting.
Minutes by Honorary Secretary
Meeting was closed at 8.10 pm
PLEASE NOTE:- ALL THE VARIOUS REPORTS ARE ON THE WEBSITE FOR VIEWING AND HAVE BEEN SINCE APRIL 2020
Fellow Members, the last week or so has been a stark reminder this pandemic is far from over and how quickly a few bad decisions can affect the population and it’s back to lock downs. We must all stay alert, keep good practices and not rush into anything which deviates away from the need to take care with hygiene and social distancing protocols.
I feel we need to remind members who may have recently travelled into those hotspots within Victoria they must quarantine on return for 14 days. We must trust our members to do this as we cannot be 100% about where members go to, or come back from, on all occasions. We have no choice other than to trust their honesty and commonsense.
The closed borders now mean we will not allow anyone from the Victorian Hotspots to play golf at our club.
We cannot allow or afford for one person to spread this Virus and be the cause of our club shutting down.
SOCIAL DISTANCING IS STILL 1.5 metres
Due to very recent changes to the number of members we can have inside the open area of our Clubhouse we are now able to hold our AGM on the above date.
It will be a seated meeting only and there will be restricted access numbers due to the Coronavirus safety regulations, we must comply with 1.5m social distancing.
For those of you that read the AGM newsletter last April you will have seen we distributed the various reports as below
AGM President’s Report 2019; AGM Treasure’s Report 2019; AGM Hon Sec Report 2019; AGM Captain’s Report 2019; AGM Women’s President Report 2019; AGM Veteran’s President Report 2019; AGM Pro Shop’s Report 2019; and AGM Course Superintendent’s Report 2019.
